Weekly Reads: Two of my favourite podcasts

Weekly Reads Podcasts | ourguidetotheeveryday.com

I realized this post is titled ‘Weekly Reads’ but, honestly, I hardly have any time to read. We had a relaxing weekend a few weeks back when I devoured The Girl on the Train (my hold at the library finally came through! I was probably #876 in line). But in my day to day life I barely get through an Instagram caption.

I don’t want to use my baby as a scapegoat for all of my shortcomings, but focusing on text is pretty challenging when you have a little one. I’ve listened to a lot more radio and podcasts this year to stay connected to the outside world.

I subscribe to a lot of podcasts (I play them on my phone through Player FM), but I’ve been listening turning to these two lately:

  • Death, Sex and Money: I love listening to the host, Anna Sale. I was first introduced to her when she was part of an episode of This American Life and I’ve been listening to Death, Sex and Money ever since. It’s usually a shorter length podcast (less than 30min). I love that she covers taboo subjects and you never know who she’s going to interview next (uber drivers, a celebrity, or maybe an inmate at a federal penitentiary.).
  • How I Built This: Listening to this podcast has convinced me that I too can start a multi-million-dollar business, if I just have the right idea. (I really enjoyed the one on Aden + Anais.)

Have a lovely weekend!
