I wanted to start this post off by saying how fall is my favourite season. I think it is, but what I really enjoy is the changing of the seasons. The first snow fall. The first signs of spring and thawing ground. The first sticky warm night of summer. And, now, the crisp air and first excuse to pull out a jacket.
After a particularly warm summer I’m welcoming fall with open arms…and mouth (apple pie, pumpkin spice latte etc.).
There are a few things that I do to get in the mood for fall:
Drink something autumnal.
Cider is for sale everywhere here; I like to heat some up with cinnamon. I also love a good pumpkin spice latte. Even those trendy golden lattes are a bit autumnal tasting.
Watch something heart-warming.
Have you seen the new Anne of Green Gables on Netflix? I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it since I love the one with Megan Follows so much. But, I really liked it. It’s more gritty (less kid friendly) – but a good watch if you try your best not to compare it to what came before. (Not everyone agrees with me, I’m kind of glad I didn’t read this review before watching it.)
Get out the warm clothes.
By this time of the year I’m really happy to say goodbye to my summer clothes and bring out some of my warmer stuff.
Get outside!
Fall is such a great season for getting out and enjoying nature. I don’t have to worry about being too hot or too cold.
Hope you’re enjoying the beginning of this beautiful season!
